As of 8 a.m., 20,000 Commonwealth residential and businesses customers are without power in Northern Illinois, according to a ComEd Spokesman. “We have deployed crews, they are going to the areas impacted by the storm," said Tony Hernandez, ComEd Spokesman. "Once they get on site and determine whether they need to clear tree debris they will start restoring power as soon as possible.” The region includes Wilmette, Kenilworth, Winnetka, Glenview and Northfield. Monday morning's brief storm has knocked out lights along Lake Avenue.

A traffic light is down at Kenilworth Avenue and Sheridan Road.
Approximately 271 Kenilworth ComEd customers are still without power as of 10 p.m. Monday, according to Village Manager Brad Burke. "The one reminder we want to stress is to encourage folks to call ComEd to report their outage even if they think their neighbors made the call." Burke said, "Our e-mail and Internet service is down here at the village hall, which is impacting our ability to get out of the message effectively." Power is out at Kenilworth's Public Works facility, which has been running on a back-up generator since yesterday's storm, Burke said. An early morning thunderstorm has caused Village Hall to close for Monday.
Wilmette Village Hall will be closed for Monday due to power outages from an early morning thunderstorm, according to an e-alert. "Village crews are surveying the community and working to clear streets and downed trees," the alert states. Meanwhile the closure means that the evening's Park District Board meeting has been canceled and will be moved to a later date. Officials are reiterating that power outages or downed wires should be reported to ComEd. Stay tuned to Patch for more on the storm.

Updated as of 11:11 a.m. A severe thunder storm that hit Cook County early morning Monday has left Wilmette residents and Village Hall without power. Patch spoke with Village Manager Tim Frenzer who encouraged residents to still make non-emergency calls for service to public works and the police department. ComEd has indicated that more than 615,000 Chicago-area customers are presently without electricity. Approximately 45 percent of these outages (280,000) are localized across the northern suburbs. "We don't have a sense of when the power is coming back," ComEd Spokesman Tony Hernandez told Patch. Power at Kenilworth's Village Hall was restored Thursday afternoon.
Only 13 ComEd customers in Kenilworth are still in the dark Friday afternoon, according to Village Manager Brad Burke. The majority of power outages, including at Village Hall and the police station, were restored Thursday afternoon. "Staff continues to be in regular contact with ComEd officials to work toward the restoration of power to the remaining affected addresses," Burke told Patch in an email. "At this time, ComEd indicates restoration is anticipated to these remaining accounts by the end of the day today."
