Wilmette's downtown wine and beer shop showed Patch some of their favorite picks to sip while enjoying the beautiful spring weather.
After an unpredictable spring, this week's weather forecast looks almost too good to be true, with high temperatures reaching into the 70s. And what better way to enjoy the sunshine than with a cold craft beer or a glass of wine on the deck? Patch reached out to Wilmette's own Bottle Shop's manager Nick Reed for his best picks to soak up the spring with. Wilmette voters can meet elected officials and candidates from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 7 at The Bottle Shop, 1148 Central Ave., in downtown Wilmette. The gathering is sponsored by New Trier Democrats and will include State Rep. Daniel Biss (now running for State Senate), Cook County Commissioner Larry Suffredin, State Senate candidate Julie Morrison, State Rep. candidates Laura Fine and Scott Drury, and Lake County States Attorney candidate Chris Kennedy. The meeting is free and open to the public, pizza is free, wine and beer can be purchased, and background guitar music comes from The Rock House. New Trier Democratic Organization hosted a meet-and-greet with local Democratic politicians in Wilmette Wednesday.
The New Trier Democratic Organization (NTDO) hosted a meet-and-greet with North Shore Democratic politicians Wednesday night. Area residents got a chance to chat about the remapped 10th and 9th Congressional Districts at The Bottle Shop in Wilmette. Earlier: Proposed Congressional Map Splits Northern Suburbs, Some Communities to Get New Representatives Rep. Daniel Biss (D-Evanston), Commissioner Larry Suffredin (D-13th District), as well as key staff members for Rep. Jan Schakowsky (D-IL), Rep. Robyn Gabel (D-Evanston) were on hand.
