Three Cops Arrested on Drug Charges; Police Search Officer's Algonquin Home

Three Schaumburg Police Department officers were arrested by U.S. Drug Enforcement agents on Wednesday.

Three Schaumburg cops have been arrested for robbing drug dealers following an investigation that lead authorities to one of the officers' homes, which is in Algonquin, Wednesday night, according to media reports.  U.S. Drug Enforcement agents arrested John Cichy, Matthew Hudak and Terrance O’Brien on Wednesday and the three Schaumburg police officers had a court appearance this morning in DuPage County, according to the Chicago Tribune. WBBM Radio reported that bond was set at $750,000 for each officer in the case.  The officers face charges of manufacturing and delivering cocaine, armed violence and theft, according to the Chicago Tribune. The officers have been placed on administrative leave, according to the Daily Herald.  Patch will …

Kenilworth Blotter: Man Arrested for Allegedly Stealing From Cars

Earlier: Kenilworth Blotter: Two Cars Burglarized Theft Fernando Heredia, 21, of Evanston was arrested for theft at 9:05 p.m. March 23 at the Wilmette Police Department after he was found to be in possession of items stolen from two Kenilworth cars. Driving While License Suspended Angel Guzman-Zavala, 35, of Chicago was arrested at 4:27 p.m. March 20 in the 400 block of Green Bay Road after he was stopped for a traffic violation and found to be driving with a suspended license. Wilmette Blotter: TVs Stolen From Home

The following information was supplied by the Wilmette police department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Residential burglary A basement window was forced open and two flat screen TVs, a DVD player and pieces of silverware were stolen between Jan. 14 and 18 from a home in the 200 block of Linden Avenue. The loss is estimated at $1,400. Theft A Kenneth Cole credit card wallet was stolen from a purse between noon and 1:15 Jan. 17 at Panera Bread. The credit cards were fraudulently used to make more than $8,000 worth of purchases at Apple stores in Northbrook and Skokie and Target. Criminal damage to property A CTA train car was spray-painted between 12:01 and 3:30 a.m. Jan. 20 at the Linden CTA station. Twenty small spotlights were damaged between 11:30 p.m. Jan. 17 and 12:30 a.m. Jan. 18 at the Baha’i Temple. The damage is estimated at $500. …

Two Chicago Men Arrested for Bike Theft

The suspects allegedly stole high-end bikes in Wilmette and Evanston.

Wilmette Police arrested two Chicago men for felony bike theft Wednesday after they were seen allegedly taking bicycles from Wilmette and Evanston commuter lots. Wilmette Police had been conducting surveillance at the Wilmette Metra Station after three locked bikes were stolen from the commuter lot between Dec. 21 and Jan. 3. According to a press release, detectives watched Kenneth Robertson, 32, and Anthony Catena, 40, enter the parking lot and use a cordless grinder to cut the lock securing a bicycle. Earlier: Previous Bike Theft Suspects Indicted The statement said detectives then followed the two suspects to Evanston’s Central Street Metra Station, where they watched them cut the lock off a second bike. Thank you to the Police Department for taking this kind of theft seriously and aggressively going after the criminals. Far to many people would like to ride but the fear of thieves making off with their bicycle while at work or shopping keep them from the road. We should not have to have a throw away bike for commuting, people who drive cars don't. Keep up the good work.   more ›

Kenilworth Blotter: Bike Stolen at Metra Stop; Wheeling Man in DUI Arrest

The following incidents were taken from Kenilworth police reports.

THEFT A bicycle was stolen from the Kenilworth Metra station, 400 Richmond Rd., between Aug. 8 and Aug. 10. The incident was reported on Sept. 2 at 1:15 p.m. DRIVING VIOLATIONS A Wheeling man was stopped in the 500 block of Green Bay Road at 2:45 a.m. Sept. 3 for a traffic violation. Further investigation revealed that the 48-year-old motorist was driving under the influence of alcohol and on a revoked license. He was subsequently charged.

Wilmette Blotter: Man Charged for Sexual Assault, $7K Rolex Stolen and More

The following incidents were reported to the Wilmette Police between July 27 and Aug. 1.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE Two side mirrors to a black, 2010 Nissan Altima were pulled off on Aug. 1 at 11:30 p.m. in the 700 block of Michigan Avenue. A man, who had parked his car and taken a walk with his girlfriend through Gillson Park, flagged down police when he discovered the damage. --- Several symbols were graffitied on Wilmette Junior High School buildings, 620 Locust Road, between July 28 and July 29. One wall was tagged with several symbols and phrases including, "my burning pizza your toppings are delicious dripping down my thighs," which was painted in black and green. Another main wall had blue symbols and the phrase "boomshakalaka." A wall south of WJHS' main entrance had an x in blue, as well as a blue figure and three white figures …

Wilmette Blotter: $36,000 Lost in Home, Account Theft Cases

The following incidents were reported between June 27 and July 3, according to Wilmette police.

THEFT A Wilmette resident's bicycle was stolen from Langdon Park, 1400 Sheridan Rd., between 5 p.m. and 5:50 p.m. July 2. According to the owner, it is a black Sedona mountain bike with a light on the front. --- An envelope containing $2,500 was taken from a home in the 700 block of 11th Street between June 7 and June 11. The money belonged to the homeowner's son, who had left the money in the ceiling tiles of a room. The parents had hired a contractor to repair some damaged pipes and tiles in the room. The contractor said he noticed the envelope but could not say if it contained any money. Wilmette Couple Charged in 10K Wisc. Shop Lifting Spree

The Sullivans will serve three years probation and 90 days of home supervision.

A Wilmette married couple have been charged with felony theft and one count of misdemeanor theft in Wisconsin, the Green Bay Press Gazette reports. Robert, 49, and Joanne, 48, Sullivan will serve three years probation and 90 days of home supervision for stealing more than $10,000 worth of items during a February 2010 spree across northeastern Wisconsin, a Brown County judge ruled Monday. Wilmette Tuesday Blotter: Clothing, Money Taken from Unlocked Cars

Over the weekend, a couple of unlocked cars were burglarized, and another resident's copper downspout was stolen.

AUTO BURGLARY An offender took clothing from an unlocked car in the 100 block of Dupee Place on Friday, Jan. 28, between 1 a.m. and 7 a.m. Offender(s) entered an unlocked garage in the 400 block of West Wilshire Drive between 6 p.m. Thursday and 7:45 a.m. Friday. The suspect(s) took a gym bag with clothing, a purse and checkbook from an unlocked car, but did not try to enter the other, locked car in the garage. THEFT Offender(s) took an eight-foot piece of a copper downspout from a home in the 300 block of Greenleaf Avenue between 5 p.m. Saturday and 3:25 p.m. Sunday. The resident had heard a loud noise at around 11 p.m. Saturday, but did not investigate, according to authorities.

Friday Blotter: Resident Has Dispute with Neighbor Over Son's Driving

A resident's wallet was stolen at Jewel, and Chicago teens were arrested for possessing cannabis.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT Police responded to a distrbance in the 1100 block of Virginia Lane Sunday. A female resident was involved in a dispute with a neighbor over her son’s driving habits earlier that day. Authorities responded to a harassment complaint Saturday afternoon at a residence in the 3100 block of Wilmette Avenue. The resident said she was concerned for her safety because of an ongoing civil matter with her son.  CRIMINAL DAMAGE Authorities responded to a call regarding three flat tires to a vehicle in a parking lot in the 3200 block of Lake Avenue early Monday morning.
