Wilmette Blotter: Men Arrested for Fraud, Road-Rage Leads to Battery

These were the major crimes, thefts, burglaries reported by the Wilmette Police Department. Earlier: Wilmette Blotter: Theft, Tenant, Property Manager Dispute Leads to Battery   Arrest for Using Fake Cards Carl D. Bornelus, 24, of 7518 N. Seeley Ave., Chicago, was arrested Aug. 28 for using a forged credit/debit card at Jewel-Osco grocery store, 411 Green Bay Rd.  Theft A wallet containing, cash, identification and credit cards was reported stolen at Corner Bakery in Edens Plaza, 3232 Lake Ave., between 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. on Aug. 22. Unauthorized charges totaling $700 were made on the victim’s credit card. These were the major crimes, thefts, burglaries reported by the Wilmette Police Department. Earlier: Wilmette Blotter: Fraud, DUI Leads to Accident, Retail Theft  Burglary to Auto A wallet was stolen from an unlocked vehicle parked in the 500 block of Lavergne Ave. between Aug. 24 and 25. The loss was estimated at $90.  Bike Theft A locked bike was stolen from the bike rack at the Metra Station, 722 Green Bay Road, between 6:10 a.m. and 7:10 p.m. on Aug. 23. The loss was estimated at $450.  An unlocked bike left in front of a garage in the 900 block of Linden was stolen between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. on Aug. 25. These are the crimes, thefts and major traffic stops reported by Wilmette Police Department between Aug. 6 and 13. Earlier: Wilmette Blotter: $3,000 Bike Stolen, Theft at Centennial Pool, Wilmette Recreation Center Arrest  Alfred T. Scott, 29 of 11709 S. Lafayette, Chicago, was arrested Aug. 6 on one count of felony theft. While investigating a complaint of an aggressive pan-handler at 4th Street and Linden Avenue, officers were informed that Scott was a person of interest in a theft that occurred in March. Thomas R. Harris, 21, of 4603 Davis St., Apt. 2E, Skokie, was arrested Aug. 5 with misdemeanor theft. Skokie police detained Harris as a possible suspect in an armed robbery incident in Skokie on Aug. 5. Wilmette Police Blotter: $20,000 Jewelry Stolen, Bike Thefts

Jewelry Theft Jewelry valued at $19,900 were stolen from a home in the 80 block of Indian hill between June 23 and 27. The resident told police he had a cleaning crew and someone clean the inside of his windows during the time frame of the theft. Among the items stolen were a diamond ring, gold necklace and earrings. Jewelry and other items valued at $6,000 were stolen from a home in the 300 block of Greenleaf Avenue between the overnight hours of June 25 and 26. The residents were home when the offenders removed a screen and climbed into a first floor window that was open.
