The deadline is Oct. 9 for voter registration in Illinois; here are lots of options to register. You can also sign up as a deputy registrar.

The deadline to register to vote in the Nov. 6 election is Oct. 9, and, for Wilmette residents, registration is as simple as making a brief trip to Village Hall. Village Hall, 1200 Wilmette Ave., is open for registration on Wednesdays from 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., and all other weekdays from 7:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Voters who have recently moved must re-register at their current address prior to the deadline. The Cook County Clerk has voter registration information on its website. To register to vote, you must be a U.S. citizen, at least 18 years old by Election Day and a resident of your precinct at least 30 days prior to Election Day.
