Police have arrested two men for 14 Wilmette burglaries that occurred in the early morning of Friday April 12.
Wilmette police have arrested two suspects in connection to a string of burglaries that occurred in the early morning hours of Friday, April 12. Murad Eminov, 18, of Chicago is being charged with three counts of felony burglary and one count of felony unlawful use of an unissued credit card, and a 15 year old juvenile male from Chicago is being petitioned to be charged with one count of felony burglary, a release from the Wilmette Police Department stated. On Friday April 12, the Wilmette Police Department received calls about one non-force garage burglary and thirteen burglary reports to unlocked motor vehicles. Last week: 81-year-old Woman Drives on Metra Tracks, Delays Train Theft Someone stole a $1,700 watch and over $2,000 worth of jewelry from the locker room of an athletic club located in the 900 block of Michigan Avenue. The victim told police that she had left the items inside her gym bag, which she left unsecured in the locker room while she swam. The stolen items included a set of Ippolita earrings, one Ippolita necklace and an Ebel women’s watch. Two burglaries and one attempted burglary occurred within three hours .
Wilmette police were called to three local homes Saturday evening after someone attempted to force entry to one residence and two more were burglarized, all within a three-hour span, police reported. Offenders made off with approximately $5,000 worth of jewelry in one burglary, stole an undisclosed amount of jewelry in another and were denied entry in a third incident, according to police reports. Police were alerted to the first burglary when they responded to an alarm call coming from a two story building located in the 1600 block of Elmwood Avenue at 6:21 p.m. Responding officers reported that the building's back door had been forced open with a pry tool and the alarm panel had been ripped off the wall. Wilmette police arrested two Chicago men who are suspected of breaking into a Wilmette home, stealing jewelry and electronics, and pawning the goods in Chicago, police reported. Police say Syed Mujeebulla Qadri, 20, and Michael T. Rosellini, 20, entered a home in the 1500 block of Lake Avenue on Dec. 4 through an unlocked door and stole several pieces of jewelry, an Apple iPod, a “docking station”, an Apple iPhone, a digital camera and cash. The two men pawned some of the stolen property shortly after the burglary, according to a police press release. Earlier: Woman Reports Losing $10,000 Ring at Wilmette Shopping Center Theft A Wilmette gas station located in the 900 block of Green Bay Road has had more than $200 worth of gas stolen and suffered hundreds of dollars in property damages after the station was robbed four times during the past three months, according to police reports. In each incident, the offender has used a pry tool to open the front panel of a gas pump in order to bypass the station’s payment system. In addition to the stolen gas, the damage caused by the break ins has been costly, as high as $500 in one theft. Earlier: Teen Crashes Truck Through School Fence Lost Ring An Evanston woman told Wilmette police on Nov. 28 that she had lost a platinum and diamond ring worth $10,000 while shopping at several Wilmette retailers located in the 3200 block of Lake Avenue five to six months earlier. The woman said she recalled wearing the band while shopping at three Edens Plaza stores during May or June, and, according to the police report, she said she noticed the ring missing when she returned home.
