Harry Reid (the guys whose Senate has not passed a Budget in over 900 days!) says he will not convene a bi-cameral conference unless the House passes the Senate Bill. Lets' think this through-- the conference will not do anything for two months. Hey Harry, stop your political gamemanship and come to the negotiating table. The Senate and the House have both passed legislation, NOW its time to iron our out the wrinkles because none of us except Sally and MD want to revisit this issue in February.

Do the Democrats want political fights for the sake of political fights because they think that political fights make Republicans look bad, or do they want to create an environemnt favorable to jobs. Two unnessary months of this bullhonkey reveals them as wanting political fights.

Sally, if the Dems wanted this to be for an entire year, then they should be happy that they might now get that. Certainly, you we can tolerate a little more negotiation this week if it means that we can get a 1-year bill rather than a 2-month bill, right?

MD, Sally, do you guys really want a 2-month extension or are you just supporting it to score political points?

Lets just get this straight - Dold wants to extend the payroll and unemployment taxes for an entire year rather than two-months, and that makes him hyper-partisan. One has to ask themselves why the Democrats only want to extend the bill for two months? Could it be that the Democrats enjoy these partisan battles and want to do them as often as possible because they have the press to do their bidding on making Republicans look like the bad guys...? I think so.

This is a 'jobs bill' and attaching the Keystone Pipe will create between 10,000 and 20,000 jobs. It will also lower the price of oil, which will allow more consumers to spend money on other things besides their gas tank = demand. Isn't infrastructure and "demand" what the Democrats have been taught by their leaders to want?
