Good comment, Linda. According to Metra spokesperson Meg Reile, all 10-ride tickets purchased before Nov. 12 or from today forward will be good for one year. Ten-ride passes bought between Nov. 12 and Jan. 31 will be effective through Feb. 29.

Feel free to nominate a team of the year as Howie did. If the team hits the top five it will be on the final athlete of the year ballot.

ReplyMr. Atsaves, Thanks for reading and commenting. I’m sorry you missed my story the day before on Congressman Dold’s manufacturers’ roundtable. Please give it a look (http://lakeforest.patch.com/articles/exports-spur-job-growth-for-local-companies).
I arrived to cover the roundtable, saw the group outside, visited with them briefly and proceeded to go inside. While there I spent more than two hours listening to Congressman Dold and two representatives from the U.S. Department of Commerce talking about using exports to build their business.
The debate over the best method of job creation during an economic downturn has been going on for more than 80 years and I’m thrilled to see it continue on Patch.

Great suggestions, everyone. We will feature family friendly places again within a month and your ideas will be among the options. We don't want to insert them in the middle of the poll. We want them all to have a fair chance to win.
