Man Sought by Police for Running Naked Through Park

Police are looking for a man who reportedly ran through Gillson Park fully naked several times this year.

Police are searching for a man who has reportedly ran through Gillson Park naked on several occasions.

Wilmette Police received a report on July 16 from a Parks Department employee who saw a naked man running through the park. The man was described as a white male between the ages of 44 and 55. He has dark curly hair and medium build, and rides a yellow bicycle. The description given to police matches that of a man reported in previous incidents.

When police arrived at the park, there was no sign of the bike or the man.

The Parks Department employee stated that he has seen the offender off and on for three years. The employee believes that the man enters the park on his bike and parks near the Coast Guard station. He then removes his clothes and walks through the park. The suspect then hides in the trees at the South end of the park, and runs out when he sees women pass by.

The employee said that the man usually stays at the park for about 20 minutes before returning to his bike and leaving. The employee said he has seen the man six times this season, with two incidents — on June 22 and July 14 — documented by police.

Anyone with any information regarding the suspect should contact Wilmette Police.
